Rilg sat in his office.  His staff and all of their equipment had cleared customs.  It had been an annoyance, but he could understand Starfleet's need to follow up on such things, considering what had just happened in the system.  Besides, they had not even expected him, apparently. That only made him and his staff more suspicious.

Rilg had been surprised by how will Starfleet had been in allowing his staff to redecorate the suite.  In fact they encouraged it.  The suite now housed an entryway similar to ones that would be found on Ferenginar.  There was even a recording of the familiar rains that were so well known.

While they were busily working out front, Rilg had been spending time going over reports on recent events involving the Diplomatic Council, which seemed to include the whole history of the organization, since it was only a few months old. The characters involved were interesting.  In fact, many of the governments were on their second representatives already, including the Federation, the Romulans and the Cardassians.  There were even rumors that the Venasians were currently sending their new representative.

He was looking forward to meeting these new representatives.  He wondered when their first official session would be.  He pressed a button on his desk, and the familiar voice of the woman who was his receptionist responded.  "Yes, Ambassador?"

"Please contact the Aqualish Embassy and invite Plantoc Ra'as to a meeting in my office at her earliest convenience."

"Yes, sir," was the simple reply.
