>Daphne was surprised by the question. She had heard some rumors about the
new felinid species that had been causing trouble in that sector. So much
so, that a joint force had been sent to investigate. From what Daphne had
heard, the joint force had taken a beating. "I don't know too many of the
details, but I have heard that there is a new group of felinids that may be
an offshoot of the Caitians that have been raiding outposts in that area.
Considering the amount of challenge they seem to be causing the fleet and
Klingon Defense Forces."

"You don't know the half of it," she said, with a strange tone to her voice
- a mixture of anger and hatred, and although her human ears might miss it,
a strange touch of pride. "Well, we have some prrrisonerrs herrre.
Captain Black, the head of the Federrration contingent, is in Medlab
rrrecoverring frrrom crrritical injurrries and will not be available forrr
some time. Captain Koloth, the head of the Klingon contingent of the joint
command, could use some help interrrogating them. He's rrrecoverring frrrom
some injurrries, and a frrresh perrrspective on the prrrisonerrs would be
welcome. I want you to go to the brrrig on the Klingon ship and see if you
can learrrn anything."

(resp?)

"I will warrrn you. They may look like Caitians, but they arrre savage and
brrrutal. They seem to be orrrganized in something akin to ourrr clans,
orrr perrrhaps Terrran lion prrrides, if that is morrre familiarrr to you.
The leaderrr has been segrrregated, taken to a place wherrre he could be
hearrrd but not seen, as he is an instigatorrr. Much of Caitian
communication is visual as much as it is vocal, so I'm hoping they arrre
similarrr and that it will calm them down." Her tail had already begun
twitching and flicking behind her as her agitation about the enemy felinids
grew. "Don't let yourrr guarrrd down forrr a moment, and do not be phased
by the things they say. Obserrrve everrrything, forrr as I said, visual
language, body language, is imporrrtant. Theirrr mouths may say one thing,
but theirrr bodies anotherrr."

(resp?)

"I have to go to a meeting with Admirrral Lasiterrr rrright now.
Afterwarrrds, I will be contacting the Caitian embassy. They will be -
interrrested - to see these abom- crrreaturres." She corrected herself
before the word 'abominations' came out. "They can assist you, although I
doubt you'll need it," she smiled. She had come highly rrrecommended.

only beginning them is either extremely wise or extremely foolish;
no matter which is true, he is certainly an unhappy man, for he
