Captain Firehawk could understand K'Tael's need.  She assumed that this
informant was somehow tied with the recent assassination attempt on Lasiter
and the bombing on Spacedock.  Keeping this prisoner safe until he could
testify would be very important if authorities were going to be able to make
strides against the movement of groups such as the Brotherhood were going to
be made.

"Commander, while I support your goals, I am reluctant to accept your
request.  Mars is a Federation outpost first.  While we have Starfleet
facilities here, I do not consider this planet to be a military base.  I
have to consider the needs and safety of the civilian population here."

"My apologies, Captain.  I mean you no imposition...."

"You misunderstand me, Mr. K'Tael.  I said I was reluctant.  That does not
mean that I will not acceed to the request.  I think that it is in the best
interest of the investigation.  You would not be asking this if it were not
vitally important.  I just want you to know that this is the second time,
and I will not allow Mars to keep housing your informants indefinitely."

"I understand that, ma'am," replied the Klingon.  "I have no intention of
doing so.  I could try and make other arrangements if you would prefer."

"That will be unnecessary, Mr. K'Tael.  I am talking longterm, here.  Let me know when you are ready to transfer the prisoner and how you want to do so.  I would be happy to host one of your officers to stay on to be in charge of him or her as you did last time."

(K'Tael?)
