"I wanted to let you know of a discussion the Council had earlier today. I
received a document earlier this morning stating that the Former Cardassian
Ambassador Dulath, who was recalled in a governmental change, was being
systematically jailed in a work camp. I do not believe, nor does the Council
at large, that someone should be jailed simply for differing political
views. We have requested, rather the Council has voted that the former
Ambassador appear before the Council to discuss this issue."
Dolari frowned slightly. "That is a serious allegation, Ambassador. What is the nature and reliability of this document?"

"If Ambassador Dulath is being unlawfully incarcerated, the Venasian government will of course support the Council's request once I formally take my seat on the Council. However, we must also be careful about becoming involved with an independent state's internal affairs. Intergalactic relations are uneasy enough as it is."
