David was sitting on the ground in Holodeck 3 speaking to someone.
That someone was his father-who had been killed when he was young.
David was sobbing-his rage had returned tenfold..he was shaking, "Father--I can't do this anymore. I want...I want...to kill him...Vanderloo has hurt so many people."
Even Holograms seemed to have a soul sometimes, "You can't do that son...you must control yourself. If you did so you would be no better than him. Take the high path and go after him legally, but first heal thyself. What has happened was not your fault."
"Yes...I must heal...but I will never be healed until he is dead..or in jail." He looked at the Hologram, "I miss you Father...I miss Mother too."
The image nodded, "You must maintain yourself David...your legacy awaits you but you must choose the correct path."
The conversation continued...
Outside the holdeck, Commander Kirk approached the console. She did a quick scan of the interior using her medical tricorder and found that Captain Boulay was alive and did not seem to be too distressed. While a part of her wanted to just barge into the illusionary world that was occuring on the other side of the door, she wanted to respect David's need for privacy.
Instead, she tapped her comm badge. "Commander Kirk to Captain Boulay."

"Captain, I received a call from your uncle. He was a little concerned about how things went during lunch. I was wondering if you would like to talk with me for a bit."
