What better way could there be than a friendly lunch? "Well, Ma'am, I would like to, but I do not eat here. I come to get my allotment points and go across the way to 'Kalik's'. My people do not handle replicated food well." said Lt Knucklebiter as he entered and removed his card from the machine. <rewrite>
Audra found Knucklebiter's statement quite interesting. She had never heard of a race that could not digest replicated food. She had not known that there was any difference between replicated and natural food. "Would you mind if I joined you, Lieutenant?" (KB?)

The beings walked well out the way of the towering Dilbian, including a quartet of Nausicans who seemed intent on trouble. Kalik's was Ferengi owned and operated, with the usual mixmash of servant beings, D'abo girls, etc, but it did have a very old fashioned, non-replicator kitchen. "AHH! MR Knucklebiter!!" exclaimed Dorg, the day manager, coming from behind he bar clasping his hands together before him. "Come right this way, I have a very special table for you and your guest," he gestured to an area to the side. "Kalik was so happy that we were one of the first places to reopen on the Decks, and had Cook get something special just for you ... your seats. What is madam drinking?" Audra couldn't help but smile. She found the Ferengi host almost endearing in his need to provide good service. "An iced tea would be fine." Once Dorg had left she turned to him and looked at the Lt. His big brown eyes waggled, knowing she was thinking he had been bribed or such. "Actually, the mainline conduits run behind the spindle here, so he was actually one of the first to be back up and running. Shevab said to him think he was special if it helps relations." Audra reached across the table and put her hands on one of his paws in a friendly manner. They were off duty, and she saw no reason to be strict about their ranks. "I did not think that you were putting his interests above the others just because you like this restaurant," she responded with a smile. "Besides, the Promenade serves and important purpose on this station. It is important to keep it running as much as the Docking Bays. I was actually impressed at the job your department has done in getting the Promenade up and running so quickly."
