Colin's smile grew warmer. "Mr. Black," he said with a sigh that made it sound like a
lament. "Perhaps ye are a bit remiss in your understandin' of the terms of the
profession from which we've sprung. To stand aloof to is position one's ship to
windward of the quarry, or in this place, the dock. Windward being, of course, the
superior position. Since there is not actually wind, as we understand it, out here in
the great expanse, ye have but to choose the superior tactical position in order to
satisfy your old salt of a captain."
The young Black chuckled to himself as he responded. "I understand sir. Coming about
to stand aloof, sir.", he answered. The only sign of his inward chuckle was the
Riker-esque smile that was on plastered across his face.
Black took the ship around the starbase, and ended up facing the dock. The small ship
came to a full stop facing the docking bay. Being slightly high and to starboard side
gave the Centurian's weapons officer a good chance to fire on anything that
would/could come out before they could take a pot shot at them. Of course, that would
not be necessary, but it fit the defination of aloof. He hoped...
