"I see," Bedru replied.  "Do you have any questions for me, Ambassador?"

The Venasian shook her head.  "No," she replied simply.

The Aqualish Ambassador's desk chirpped. 
 
She stood up for a moment.  "Please excuse me for a moment, Admiral," she said before walking over to her desk.  The Admiral could hear the Ambassador talking with a staff member, but could not hear clearly enough to understand what was being said.
 
A moment later, Ra'aj returned.  "Well, it seems like you are going to get a chance to meet the rest of the Council immedicately.  The Cardassian representative has called a meeting to respond to an earlier request."
