"Interesting...I am sure my team will have plenty of input for you." He motioned to a seat.
McTiernan slid into the chair that the Admiral had indicated. "As you can imagine, we are quite hopeful that you will, sir." It was clear that this CO was not prepared to actually command. He had probably been assigned the position on Io under the assumption that there would be little-to-no excitement other than the research. He was a man overcome by the unexpected responsibilities.
