Joanna could sense that David was not deceiving her with his new found stability, at least not any more than he could be deceiving himself. He truly believed that the was doing better. Her telepathic senses made that clear. She was still concerned, but less than she was before.

She nodded to respond. "It is important to understand that, David. Vengeance would only cause more problems for you. Speaking of work, how do you feel about getting back to it?" she was truly interested in his response to her question. His reaction, both emotionally and in statement, would help her feel how he was really doing.

"I have to do what I have to do...I can't pity myself anymore. I'm a victim of a violent assault and unless I take action I will play this role....I will work with Commander K'Tael on his project." He thought he'd surprise her with the psych-oriented response....she was really a nice person.

Joanna nodded. She so wanted to believe that he had accepted things as they were. Unfortunately, he had said such things in the past, and they had proven not to be true. She was willing to trust him a little and take the chance. Her face spread to a smile. "it sounds like you have taken a big step. What caused the change?"

(response?)
