"Not that long...maybe just about 2 years. It's hard to say-time goes by so fast when you're having fun."
Joanna nodded as they arrived at the turbolift. A mement later, the doors parted to allow them to enter. After they stepped on, she requested the proper deck. "I can see myself easily coming to view this place as home," she picked up the conversation. "Are you from Earth originally?"
"Yes I am...San Francisco...and you?"
A couple of teenagers came running wildly down the hallway fast and not really caring who else was around. He instinctively nudged her against the wall, unconsciouslly putting his arm around her waist. He tripped one of the kids and he went down in a tumble, tagging the other on the way.
David feigned an apology, "I am sooo sorry...." Then he offered a hand to help one up-as he came up he purposely snugged him against the wall, "This is not a playground. Don't ever run like that in the hallway again." He shoved him off and returned to Joanna-again he put his arm around her waist, "You ok?"
Joanna nodded. "I am fine," she responded. She was impressed with the way that he had rushed to her protection. It was very gallant. She couldn't help but smile. "Somehow kids stay the smae no matter where they are living."
(response?)
"I grew up on starships. My parents were both career fleeters. My mother was a Chief Medical Officer and my father was in security."
