A few minutes later, Valtris had arrived at the Romulan Embassy.  She had a
hunch and she wanted to follow through on it.  She made her way into the
reception area.  "I was wondering if I might be able to speak with the
Rihannsu Ambassador?"

"Just a moment, please."  The aide checked with the ambassador and then looked up.  She will be right with you.

If the Klingon could come to her, the least Ael could do was meet the Klingon at the door.  She had a very strong suspicion she knew what the ambassador had come to ask.

Ael moved forward enough for her door to slide open.  "Ambassador Valtris," she greeted her, "please, be welcome."  She stood back to allow the Klingon entrance into her inner office.  Once they were both inside with the door closed, Ael tapped the control that shut off even her own internal monitors.  There would be no record of anything said here.  "May I get you a drink?" she asked, indicating the comfortable sofa off to the side of her office.  They would sit away from the desk, since this wasn't formal, after all.
