The shuttle responded with static.
"No reply...hailing again." He put out a Class 1 Hail to them.
He muted his voice from the channel and opened another, "Runabout Nile to Mars Control. We have another ship behind us charging weapons, intentions possibly hostile. Taking evasive action immediately. Please advise."
"Nile, this is Mars control. We understand the situation and are scrambling some vessels to assist. They should be joining you in a few minutes," responded the same raspy voice as earlier.
"Thank you. Please hurry. Nile out."
After a few seconds of continued scanning, Wilson added, "I read three humans aboard, two males and one female."
"I think we're in trouble, folks."
Wilson glanced up from her scanner. She was not afraid, but she had to hope that either of her companions had real shuttle combat experience. She did not. Her field experience had never involved her making tactical decisions. Since Boulay had not taken command, she looked to K'Tael.
"Commander, we may not have a few minutes," she said.
"Commander Wilson, would you be comfortable taking over landing the Runabout while I take over tactical?"
(response?)
David glanced at both of them as he continued his hailing work-he started to sweat...he had to keep it together or he'd never get back to his work. Joanna had put a spark in him to get his life going again and he wasn't going to let fear extinguish it
