Matt headed back to Spacedock to clear out his office. He quickly cleared out his office in sickbay, moving all his personal items to the much larger, much more luxurious and, until now, much unused office of the Surgeon General. He wondered, though, if he would be asked to move to San Fran with the rest of the command staff.
He spent a few minutes with Mary Basco and Kay Burnett, telling them of his resigning as CMO in favor of spending more time both as SG and in teaching - which they already knew thanks to Renaud's memo - and then he told them his other news. Both ladies promised to be at the wedding much later that day.
He also sought out his sister-in-law to give her the word. She took it very well, and was very supportive, assuring him that he felt Rhiana would not only udnerstand, but approve as well. She, too, promised to attend the dusk ceremony.
Then there was the matter of the clergy. Matt knew several priests, of course, but he hadn't cleared the type of clergy with Carrhae. That would soon need to be done.
He rounded quickly in sickbay, signed off on all his open charts, then beamed down to San Fran SF Command to present to the officer of the deck and find his new office.
(eh, GMS?)
