Not too far away, Admiral Carrhae t'Llhweiir sat in her own office sipping some
Vulcan spice tea. Her cousin had called twice during the night to confirm one
detail or another about the wedding. Fortunately, she had been up, anyway, so
the calls had been no difficulty.

When she saw that Lasiter's acknowledgement of her meeting request had come from
him, she knew that he was in his office. She contemplated going to him and
reporting what had happened. Would he see it as a preemptive maneuver to try
to deflect the consequences?

There was only one way to find out.

Moments later, she entered the opened outer office door, leaving her current
pair of guards in the corridor beyond.

Pushing the annunciator for the inner office, she waited for a response.
