"I intend to. The General's visit does play into the decision to hold
off. Geez, I can't wait until that's over."
"My understanding is
that he will be here in the next couple of days. How long is he
expected to remain?"
"I don't know. Anywhere from a few days to a
week. Possibly more. Either way it won't bother me much. After
my meeting with him, I'm gone. Since I am one of the first meetings, I
shouldn't be delayed too much. "
Jared was glad to hear the
response. His friend definitley needed to get away from things. "I
am sure things will go smoothly on that front."
"We can only hope."
"How long are you planning to take for your vacation?"
"I was planning on a week. However, that won't include the time for
M'Rrenn's funeral rites on Cait."
Jared nodded. It sounded like the Admiral was planning to address the
concerns of all his friends.
"Well, it looks like we have arrived. This is it. Sparce, yet
tastefull Starfleet decor. Sleep well. Tomorrow will be a busy
day. For both of us. If you need anything, just ask. Your
security detail will be assigned shortly, and they can take you where you need
to go. And in case I haven't said it already, thank you for coming,"
Lasiter said as they arrived at the VIP quarters, hand extended for a
handshake. The sentiment was heart felt.
"It was the least I could do for a friend. I knew that if you
were calling me home, it was somehting important." replied Jared. "I am
sure the quarters will be up to my expectations. I have been in Starfleet
too long to expect too much," he continued with a smile.
With that he turned into his quarters and fell into his bed, where he found
himself deep in sleep.
