She took a sip of coffee and was reading an article about the upcoming visit by General A'amon to the station when the computer chimed. "You have a message awaiting review."
Joanna put down her coffee cup and made her way over to her desk, where she accessed the file. It was a brief note from Admiral Renaud. She could not imagine why the station's CO would send her a message this early in the morning for her. She opened the file.
Shock was what confronted her when she read the note. In fact, the room about her seemed to swirl as she took in what the Admiral had written. David had not mentioned anything about having to leave the station for an assignment when they had last spoken at lunch yesterday. As she read further, she learned that he was ok. In fact, he had survived the accident better than Commander K'Tael had. She could only hope that his psyche could handle the additional shock. Two things could happen. He could crumble under the stress or he could realize that he could handle it all along and rise to the challenge.
She quickly made her way to her bedroom and quickly got ready for work before heading to her office. Before leaving, she sent Admiral Renaud a note requesting a meeting with him about the situation when he had some time.
