Once done, he pulled out his phaser and reset it as he walked a bit closer to the door. "Get ready." he said....
Aravis leaped forward and shuffled between KB and the door. "Mr. Knucklebiter, I was hoping we could trap them in the room and be able to rush the guard so the numbers would be a bit more even. Can you jam the door?"
"Ma'am, that was my plan. That door is a huge presurized bulkhead, made to keep stuff out, and I was going to fuse the outerlayers to make impossible to get 'out' "
Aravis nodded a bit ashamed of her confusion. "Let's go. I can cover you while you work so you can concentrate on getting it done quickly."
"Cover your eyes, because this is going to be a tad bright,, than run for your targets,," he said as he raised the phaser in his paw,,
"NOW!!" he said loudly as he hit the firing stud.
There was a blinding flash as the whole phaser's energy cartridge was expended in a wide burst.
The good news was the shot had the desired effect. The system for the door shorted out thanks to the predicted fusing. Unfortunately, internal security sensors picked up the phaser shot and initiated the alarm system. There arrival was no longer a secret.
Aravis cursed herself for not insisting on a more delicate approach to the job before looking back at her team. She nodded to the doctor and two scientists to head down the hall and see what they could do about the two prisoners.
(Doc?)
She then looked to KB. "Let's go, big guy, we have to cover the team and hope we can get out of here without too much trouble."
(KB?)
