>"Well, let'sss go find out what the lassst passsage sssayss and make a copy

>"I guess that is one of the good things about having a fairly weak sense
>of smell!" Daphne smiled. "We can run the text through the linguistic
>database when we get back. Maybe it will help us out."
They headed back off the ship and back to the area near the brig, where
Tr'Lawsh had set up her linguistics lab. She scanned in the book, and had
the computer analyze the unknown language.
As they were waiting, she looked at the book. "I feel I should give thisss
back to Trrraknorr," she said. "I mean, we'll rrrun the copy thrrrough the
code checkerrr to sssee if therrre arrre any hidden messssagess, but if
thisss isss a sssacrrred text, I know it would mean a lot to me to have
sssomething like thisss back." She looked up at Daphne. "What do you think?"
A run through of the linguistic database took some time. It had to tie into
the expansive databanks at Memory Alpha in order to check some of the lesser
known, essoteric languages. What came back was 'fascinating', as the immortal
Spock would say. The language was identified as being that of the Ramesar. A
people whose past was largely unknown, but recently had a great political
upheaval.
A high level summary of the recent Ramesar political turmoil was that the
people that the Federation knew as the Ramesar were really imposters. A people
that took over the Ramesar homeworld after a great war left them very
vulnerable. Well, the Ramesar came back from their exile to reclaim their
ancestoral home. The reclaiming of the planet Rames was relatively peacefull
by anyone's standards, but there were still issues that needed to be worked
out. Starfleet has observers on the planet to observe the transition of power.
The language was definately that of the Ramesar....
