The runabout soon dropped back behind and into position behind the
Centurian. Ready to pop in and out of cover to fire off an opportune
shot.
The three vessels must have been finished with waiting. The two
shuttles
went after the Runabout and began firing, while the larger vessel let
loose on
the Centurian.
The Back River stayed close to the Centurian using her for cover on her
flank.
However, she concentrated all of her fire power, such as it was, on
anything and
everything that came within range.
The shields around the larger vessel sparkled as the shots from the
Runabout hit them. It was clear that the new arrivals had taken a page
from the the actions of the Starfleet vessels. The shuttles were
within the shields of the "mother" ship.
One of the torpedo bays from the "mother" ship flared to life as two
torpedos burst forth and slammed into the Back River.
The Runabout flew slightly off course and its shields fell to 15%.
"Centurian, this is Back River. We're taking a beating, shields at 15%. We
need to start plan B. By the way, we need to come up with plan B."
