When he stepped into the cockpit of the ship, she was just clearing the protective shield holding in the atmosphere of the docking area. He quickly made his way over to the station where he was seated on their arrival and began scans to find the transport point on this side of the portal.

It obviously did not take long for company to arrive as the ship shook with the impact of fire from other vessels.

Aravis shifted the runabout into a series of evasive maneuvers. "Mr Knucklebiter, see if you can distract a few of our friends with some fire. Commander, I would appreciate some coordinates for the junction point ASAP. It will not do us any good to find the scientists and either get captured ourselves or get us all killed."

The ursoid knew the little shuttle had little offensive capability, and needed all available power
for shields and to run their collective asses away.

"If you can't blind them with brilliance, baffle them with baloney.." he said quoting an old Engineering phrase, so he rapidly altered the ship's weapons to fire bursts that would temporarily disrupt other ship's sensors, and began laying out attacks and random salvo's to cover their trail.

McTiernan sent the sensors probing to find the location as the Runabout lurched from being hit. He could only hope they would survive to get back to Station Kerry. Then his console started beeping. He had found it. "I have it, Lt. Holt. I am transferring the coordinates to your station. Let me know when you want me to send out the initiation signal."

"Great job, Commander." Aravis glanced down at her console to access the incoming information. Fortunately, the coordinates were not too far away. She entered in the navigational directives to bring the runabout to the destination. "Commander, send the signal, and let's get out of here."

McTiernan sent out the signal and the now familiar flare of light burst out in space. The runabout swung in and passed through the artificial portal, which seemed to close in behind it preventing the pursuers from following suit.

On the other side, the runabout burst back into normal space. The team was free.

Aravis brought the runabout on a trajectory to head towards Io before turning to the rest of the team in the cockpit. "Any sign of pursuit?"

(response?)

She nodded before tapping her console to open a line to the back of the runabout. "Doctor, how are things going with our three patients?"

(response?)
