>It was just 15 minutes before 0900 when Wilson and K'Tael materialized
at
>SF HQ. >In fact before they could leave the transporter room another group, also >attending the briefing, arrived. It was the Captain and Tactical Officer >from the USS Centurian. They had just about 15 minutes to make it from the >transporter room to the offices of Starfleet Security Command where Rear >Admiral Smallwood would be waiting. >After the transporter went through, they would come off it to see Captain >Boulay standinh against a wall. "Captain...Commanders...." >(OOC: Actually, it's actually Captains and Commander, I believe...) (ooc: whoops) {OOC: My count of the arriving is 3 commanders (Ares, K'Tael, and Wilson) and 1 captain (Fitzgerald). Capt. David Boulay was already there waiting for those coming in from SPD and CENT. Or did I miss a rank? - CS} "Captain Boulay, good morning," Wilson said. Not the warmest of greetings, but completely correct. "Likewise Commander." David didn't even notice any attitude she had been exhibiting. K'Tael nodded his head to the newcomers. He did not feel the need to introduce himself since it would probably come up during the briefing. >Captain Fitzgerald gave the others a warm smile. "I'm Colin Fitzgerald," he introduced himself. He felt the >'captain' part was superflous, since they all could read his collar insignia. "This is Commander Ares, the >Centurian's tactical officer." Ariel nodded her head when her CO introduced her.
"Calinda Wilson, Sir. Star Fleet Intelligence. Thank you for the ride. Things were getting a bit uncomfortable on the runabout." (Fitzgerald?) "David Boulay-JAG Chief. It's a pleasure to meet you." He said to Ares, "Nice shooting back there." Ariel felt a smile brighten her face at the compliment. "Thank you, Captain. Just doing my job." > "Shall we head for Admiral Smallwood's office?" "Aye," she replied. "Absolutely." The group of freshly arrived officers departed the transporter room, en route to SF Security. As was typical of any hour, SF Command was a blur of activity. They were able to chit chat on the way, and arrived without much delay. After the usual pleasantries and greetings, Captains Fitzgerald and Boulay and company were shown to briefing room. Inside there was a large table with name cards for where they were to sit. Smallwood and t'Llhweiir were at one end, and each of the other groups were placed together (Fitzgerald and Ares as one group, K'Tael, Wilson, and Boulay as another). Also of note was the lack of windows. In their place were two large view screens. This was a true working room- no distractions. "Admiral Smallwood will be with you momentarily.", said the aide as he turned and left the group to take up their seats. Wilson sat at her designated seat and opened her padd. She did a check to see if anything new had come of the investigation of the Backriver (ooc: the first shuttle?). (OOC: Randye, I will send you some notes off list.)
David hated rooms like this-he liked bright rooms. He took his seat. K'Tael settled down into the seat that had a card with his name before it. He glanced around and wondered why the setting was so gothik in nature. It almost seemed like they were meant to be intimidated or to feel awe at the entrance of Admiral Smallwood. Ariel made her way over to the viewport that was set up in the room.
It allowed for a nice view of the Bay. It reminded her a bit of being home
in Quebec, which, thanks the St. Lawrence River had a similar feel to the
area. It was one of the things that she missed about serving in
space.
