(ooc: helloooo...ignoring Watson here???)
Watson came in, leaning heavily on his cane...his knee didn't like
travel.
He looked around, "Ambassadors, Captain and Commander. Are we ready to
go?"
T'Kresh had already been in the room and was discussing some things
with the
Captain and the Doctor when Watson arrived. She nodded her head.
"Let's
hope we are wrong. It would make things quite a bit easier."
He walked over to T'Kresh, "I'm sorry Plantoc...what would make things
easier?" He was clearly concerned that the discussion could impact the
meeting.
Rilg waddled into the room and made his way over to the growing group.
He
was wearing a typically garish Ferengi outfit. His face was lit with a
smile. It was clear that anticipation was getting his nerves going as
he
prepared to start his first official mission with the Council. He
bowed his
head to the Captain and the rest before settling. The only person left
to
arrive was Ambassador Valtris.
Fortunately, she stepped into the room at that time. "The only way to
make
things easier would be for us to just take Golan and run. It would
lead to
some tough diplomacy, but it is the only way to guarantee that he is
all
right."
(ooc: who said this paragraph above?? I'm confused)
(OOC: Pete, I think that was added by Lisa so it would have to be
Valtris.)
"I am not sure that it would make things any easier. While it would
guarantee his safety, it would leave us with a major interstellar
incident. Wars have started for much less," said the Council Chair.
It was something she would love to do, but it was not something that
she could approve of officially.
"We can't do that....we'd have a mess of trouble and with the Ramesar
Emissary arriving it would look extremely bad for the Council as a
whole." Watson said..
"I think we should also be concerned that such action could lead to
open warfare." T'Kresh looked toward Melora Damesh. "The Cardassians
are not known for having the coolest heads. How do you think your
people would react to such an action?" It was clear from the way the
question was made the Chair was trying to prove her point rather than
actually proposing such action be made.
Melora pursed her lips and narrowed her eyes. She had no interest in
participating in the conversation. She had been dragged along on this
mission that neither she nor her government had supported. Given the
choice, she would rather have been on Spacedock looking into the new
applicant to the Council. "You are correct, Madam Chair. Central
Command would not accept it without acting. It would definitely cause
a great deal of tension. I am sure that none of our governments would
want that."
