Audra had been working in Ops all morning. Overall, things had been fairly
quiet. She glanced toward Brad. He was busy coordinating a project as usual.
She wondered how things were going with Joe Garibaldi. They blossoming
relationship seemed to have faded. Since it was time for lunch, she decided
to see if she could do something about that.
She tapped her comm badge. "Firehawk to Joe Garibaldi."
Joe had spent far too much time interrogating reluctant informants, and was
catching up on the paperwork when Audra called.
"Garibaldi here, go ahead Commander."
"I was wondering if you have a few minutes to have lunch together. I was
hoping to go over a few things with you."
He was thinking about declining the invitation, but .... "You know I was
just about to take a break to get lunch myself, and I'd love some company.
Where can I meet you?"
"I was thinking of doing O'Lancey's, but I could change that if you wanted
to do something else?"
"O'Lancey's will be just fine. I'll meet you there in say 10 minutes?"
"Works for me," answered the Ops Manager.
"Great, then it's a date..."
Just shy of 10 minutes later, he arrived to find...
Audra was already seated at a table. She was sipping a Perrier as she was
going over some reports on a PADD.
As Joe approached the table, he called to his lunch mate. "Hey, Audra.... "

As he took his seat, "I'm happy you called. I've been eating at my desk or on
my feet for what seems like forever. Eating with someone not involved with my
assignment is a breath of fresh air..."
