Watson had just finished some paperwork and was straightening his desk up when the call came in. He had his assistant patch it through, "Ambassador Canide. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. What news do you have for me?"
"My representatives in the area were able to arrange a communication with the Empress of the Letrosian people. Her name is Livia, and she is the same person who led the Letrosians at the time they closed their borders to 'outside interference.' She was willing to talk with my representative, but expressed her sadness at an inability to actually help you in contacting the Lady Karina. It appears that even though she was ordered to return to the Letrosian system many years ago, she never returned."
