Hi,

Perhaps this is a silly question, but is there a particular reason
that spacewalk is not developed with ODBC? (Using for example
iODBC?)

As I'm not a db-expert and hence not knowing about all the
intricate details between different DBs I understand this might be
the reason, but I'm curious. From my humble perspective moving to
an "abstraction" of the underlying DB should surely be a good
thing, instead of having to develop code for individual DBs and
only specific code where necessary.

I do apologise if this is a dumb question, but wouldn't mind
someone explaining the reasons behind using a DB-specific code
rather than abstraction.

Kind regards,
Christoffer
