All,

We're in the process of formalizing the analysis/planning for the postgres porting project. The project plan specifies this work to be done in several iterations.

The 1st iteration generally consists of creating the postges schema and porting those stored procedures not associated with packages.

The 2nd iteration generally consists of porting a targeted subset of the DB packages and application queries. The goal is to have a spacewalk working with "bare bones" functionality. The idea is we start with core functionality and work our way out. Here is a link to an attempt to scope what this iteration would include ( https://fedorahosted.org/spacewalk/wiki/PgIter2Breakdown ). The tables and views will already be ported and are listed to give some perspective to the scope of the effort. I realize this is a very large percentage of the total functionality but I didn't think the application would be sane with less. If you see something that is missing, please add it. If you think we can do with less, please make a note in the "Notes" column.

Thanks,

Jeff
