Folks,
I'd like to get your opinion....
I'm currently working on a Python script that uses Spacewalk XMLRPC APIs
to list/delete system snapshots. Since this script uses the XMLRPC
APIs, it is not required that it run on the Spacewalk server and it is
not dependent on other Spacewalk packages (e.g. spacewalk-backend,
spacewalk-java...etc). As a result, I'd like to create a new RPM for
this script and others that we'll likely create in the future.
Now, I'd like to get your opinion on the following:
1. Where is a good place to store scripts like this in git ? (e.g.
$GITDIR/spacewalk/tools?)
Currently, we have scripts in several locations; however, most of
them are internal.
spacewalk/scripts
spacewalk/contrib
Is current locations of this type of content. I think scripts or new
location under 'spacewalk/client' - so that we package up a collection
of client scripts folks can use on their workstation to interact with
their Spacewalk server rather than checking out the git repo.
As for name, not sure.
Cliff
2. What would be a good name for an RPM like this? (e.g. spacewalk-tools?)
thanks in advance,
Brad
