The usual experience AFAIR is that the queries have to be dumbed down to
the point that they no longer perform well on Oracle (or Postgres),
because of mysql's crummy optimizer and lack of support for advanced
join strategies.
If we're willing to maintain a separate set of queries for Mysql then
it's no skin off my nose. What would be a problem is trying to rewrite
the code to meet the least common denominator of all three databases.
