I have a local yum repository that is fully populated with RPMs and
metadata.

I have a local spacewalk server that has a channel configured to sync
from the yum repository.

After I force the channel to sync with the repository, I noticed that
the package count is only very slowly increasing in the spacewalk web
interface (as well as through client commands).

The repo has around 2000 RPMs in it and, after several hours, spacewalk
is only claiming to have around 1400 packages in the channel.

Is this by design? Or is there some configuration within spacewalk that
I can change so it grabs the repo contents faster?

Does spacewalk retrieve the packages from the yum repo in serial or in
parallel?

Thanks,
Maarten
