Dear developers, due changes in Fedora the translations changed (see my previous email for long story). How it affect your life? And what should you do:
1. If you want to push or pull translationt to/from Transifex, you have to sign up to http://www.transifex.net 2. Our project is: http://www.transifex.net/projects/p/spacewalk/ If you want to be co-maintainer, just ping me (you should already have git write access). 3. In git root of Spacewalk repo is config file for out project: .tx/config It define where are sources and translations of our projects. 4. To interact with Transifex you have to: - install Transifex client yum --enablerepo=updates-testing install transifex-client - run (no need to be in specific directory): tx init 5. If you want to push new source strings to Transifex, go to git root of Spacewalk project and run: tx push --skip --source If you ommit --source, it will push both source and translations, which is not what you want. It may be useful to update only one package: tx push --source --skip -r spacewalk.spacewalk-backend 6. If you want to download translation from Transifex, you want to run in git root of Spacewalk: tx pull -r spacewalk.rhn-client-tools There are several drawback: 1) As you may notice, the changes are not automatically propagated to git (fortunately direction from git to Transifex works - but only for source files). Previously the translations were automatically commited to git - immediately. Now you have to manually pull them. Therefore if you want to update some translations directly in git (e.g. you get patch via email), then do "tx pull" first, commit, and do "tx push -l XX -r spacewalk.name-of-resource". 2) Transifex do not recognize two our locales: http://getsatisfaction.com/indifex/topics/unknown_locale_zh_cn_gb2312 http://getsatisfaction.com/indifex/topics/unknown_locale_zh_tw_big5 You have to use --skip during push otherwise tx client stop on first error. 3) It wipes fuzzy translations: http://getsatisfaction.com/indifex/topics/lost_fuzzy_translations This is biggest problem from my POV. I talked to Glezos and it is solved in latest version of Transifex client, which should be released in few days. In the mean time, you can install it using: easy_install -U http://code.indifex.com/transifex-client/get/tip.zip 4) The resource and translations are reformated by Transifex I filed: https://bitbucket.org/izi/polib/issue/20/reformating-of-strings -- Miroslav Suchy Red Hat Satellite Engineering _______________________________________________ Spacewalk-devel mailing list Spacewalk-devel@redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/spacewalk-devel
