Can you make sure both spacewalk and proxy servers resolve each other hostname to the right IP address ?
I had a similar problem where the proxy hostname was from a private named network so I had to edit /etc/hosts on spacewalk server. Else, please post log messages from both servers jabber service, and from client osad additionally (run using /usr/sbin/osad -N -vvvvv).
