Hi all, We'd like to adjust the Spacewalk .spec files to require the Oracle Instant Client 11.2.0.4 or higher, which will allow us to use the latest 12.1.0.2.0 client as well.
However, before I do that, I'd like to know the reasoning behind the following two commits: https://github.com/spacewalkproject/spacewalk/commit/ab541dae7e0cef161000d4b9e0826919795f22e6 https://github.com/spacewalkproject/spacewalk/commit/f6377f4f87c0b89a8cbbba7aa72ecfc22d081851 The first one relaxed the Instant Client version, the second reversed it. Both occurred on the same day. :) Assuming Oracle makes the change to >= 11.2.0.4 and then tests 12.1.0.2.0, would this be acceptable upstream? We've already tested Spacewalk with 11.2.0.4 and RDBMS 12c. This change would allow us to have version parity between Database and Instant Client, which is preferable from a support perspective.
