Hey there,

I noticed today that one of my servers automatically updated the
kernel (!!!) without me scheduling it. I have not set anything
specifically to cause automatic updates, and it looks like the update
was pulled from another yum repository, not the spacewalk server
itself. However, it *appears* that this behavior is new since I
installed the rhn client tools.

The following is in the up2date log :

[Thu Aug  7 06:13:50 2008] up2date updateLoginInfo() login info
[Thu Aug  7 06:13:50 2008] up2date logging into up2date server
[Thu Aug  7 06:13:50 2008] up2date successfully retrieved
authentication token from up2date server
[Thu Aug 7 06:15:36 2008] up2date Adding packages to package profile:
['kernel-2.6.18-92.1.10.el5', 'kernel-headers-2.6.18-92.1.10.el5']
[Thu Aug  7 06:15:36 2008] up2date Removing packages from package profile: []

Is this coming from the rhn client tools? How do I disable this?
Auto-updating a kernel is especially scary.... !
