I am seeing the exact same error and the message about not getting a <features
/> stanza as well. There are no other errors until I run osad on the client
thusly: osad -N -v -v -v -v -v -v -v.

Maybe a little overkill on the -v's but I needed input! :)

What I'm finding is that the client is unable to successfully authenticate to
the jabber server. I'm not sure if it is an SSL problem or something else I
did, since I had to really mess around with jabberd 2.2 to even get c2s running
properly.

This is on a CentOS 5.3 spacewalk server and a CentOS 5.2 client.

Hmm, that's an error other people on the list reported, but I'd not seen.

I just worked through getting to the stage where the server was happy and was
reporting no errors on startup (by tailing syslog when starting it up), then
setup the client as per the minimal instructions on the spacewalk website.
Once I'd got the correct credential setup clientside all worked fine.
