Could this be linked to an issue first reported by Josh Mullis and
confirmed by myself.  

If you delete a client from spacewalk and then re-add the client, then
on the client run "yum list" you will see your repo packages, but a "yum
install <package>" will fail. If you leave It and then try again in
about 2 hours the package installs without any issues. No amount of yum
cleaning or rebooting helps.

And now an hour later it is showing all proxies having a varnish update
with no rhn-profile-sync (but possibly rhnsd calling rhn_check).
