Put your changes to /etc/rhn/rhn.conf, which takes preference over
/etc/rhn/default/*.
To be precise. Files in /etc/rhn/default/ will be overwritten during
upgrade, so you do not want to change anything there or you changes will
be lost. Sooner or later.
All your changes should go /etc/rhn/rhn.conf as Michal stated.
