I want to reduce the manual work to do when reinstalling a system and
therefore avoid duplicates in my spacewalk installation.

The only way to do that is to generate a reactivation key for each
system. As far as I found out this can only be done by using the web
interface manually.

Is there an (undocumented) way to generate such keys automatically for
example within a script either on the spacewalk server or a client?

An imaginable workaround would be to delete the duplicates
automatically. A proposal for identifying such systems can be found in
the spacewalk wiki
(https://fedorahosted.org/spacewalk/wiki/DuplicateProfiles). Were some
of these features integrated or can a list of existing hosts (with
system-id) be exported and via a script-able interface deleted?

My last and most universal question: how do you handle duplicates in
your installations?

this is exactly the thing i am currently looking at - how can a box be rebuilt without having to go into the gui and remove it first, otherwise you end up with a dupe. We rebuild without the use of the gui so this behavior just makes this harder to manage.

if i find anything i'll let you know
