Everything seems to work fine but this problem on a fresh install of SpaceWalk 1.1/RHEL5.5 64 bits and up to date. I can create a channel, 'rhnpush' packages into it and register machines.
Examining the logs I can see these errors: A) in /var/log/rhn/rhn_taskomatic_daemon.log: INFO | jvm 1 | 2010/09/21 09:00:18 | WARNING - Unable to load the Wrapper's native library 'libwrapper.so'. INFO | jvm 1 | 2010/09/21 09:00:18 | One common cause of this problem is running a 32-bit version INFO | jvm 1 | 2010/09/21 09:00:18 | of the Wrapper with a 64-bit version of Java, or vica versa. There are many other entries in this log reporting "wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64" such as this one i.e.: INFO | jvm 1 | 2010/09/21 12:29:44 | Exception in thread "com.mchange.v2.async.ThreadPoolAsynchronousRunner$PoolThread-#2" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /usr/lib/oracle/10.2.0.4/client64/lib/libocijdbc10.so: /usr/lib/oracle/10.2.0.4/client64/lib/libocijdbc10.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64 (Possible cause: architecture word width mismatch) B) in /var/log/httpd/error_log: Multiple lines like the following, one per RPM packet in my software channel: Changing owner for /var/satellite/redhat/1/ce7/apr-util failed I'm user I've used only 64 bits repositories for the installation.
