You should probably upgrade via 1.3 first. See:

That will walk you through the oracle update step, and will also allow
you time to catch any errors that may occur in the 1.2->1.3 upgrade.

Right, I just presumed since the 1.4 upgrade page notes 1.2 as an
assumption it was ok.
Anyhow, the upgrade seems to have gone fine other than the osad problems
persist.
