I have the same problem when I reinstalled SW proxy on RHEL6, I had to roll it
back to the old server which is running RHEL5.
We have slow connection between SW proxy and SW server, and commands such as
yum update or yum makecache will time out on the larger files.

Smaller files are OK.

No idea what is causing this, but if you figure this out let me know :-).

Cheers

Subject: [Spacewalk-list] Problems with SW-proxy on the unstable link.

HI all!

As I understand, sw-proxy before transmitting the file to local squid verifies
it. Accordingly, appears transmission delay with slow channel.
Because have to wait until SW-proxy will download the file and check it.
Installing the package by yum on the client fails because a timeout appears.
This especially comes in large packages > 50 MB.

Is it possible to disable the check in the proxy settings, that it immediately
began to transfer a file to squid?
Or is there some other way to reduce(avoid) the delay in the transfer package?
