Hello list,

sorry for raising this very old thread. but it looks actual for me as I cannot find similar feature in last spacewalk. please can someone confirm if this feature is implemented or not? very simple example: I've subscribed for several clients a new respository (centos alt), but I dont want to use certain packages from this repo (as postfix, mysql libs and so on). It's possible to exclude it somehow from list of available packages? excluding may have global impact (for all subscribed clients) or local (based on selected hosts). any of both options will be fine.

thanks for response in advance

Hello List,

I have a Spacewalk 1.4 installation that I am trying to exclude a certain
package from installing on certain servers. I have added the exclude =
packagename* to the /etc/yum/pluginconf.d/rhnplugin.conf file and perform yum
commands and this works fine. When I perform a package install via Spacewalk
and select the package that should be excluded and try to install that package
it actually installs the package. Is there anything that I could do to stop the
package from installing from the web ui?

Thank you for your time and have a great day!

Kind regards,
JD
