Hi Stephen, exactly that, but the packages won't disappear. It doesn't matter how small the batches of packages are. The process works for some time and then disappears showing the 500 in the webinterface. Other suggestions?

That probably just means that the connection timed out while waiting for the operation to complete, which shouldn't affect the actual deleting of the packages. They should disappear eventually. Look at 'top' or something to see if the process is still running.
