   Thanks for the info! As for the removal of the client, I was just looking 
for a way to remove and test reinstall since I don't have the ability or access 
to snapshots. But I'll just deal with it as it comes.

For Oracle Linux (no Enterprise, btw), the Spacewalk client is always a higher 
version that the stock client.

That depends on your definition of “safe” :) If you revert back to the vendor 
client on Oracle Linux, it would no longer be able to connect to Spacewalk.
