Hi all. Well I found a very simple solution to this issue. I guess sometimes the most simple solutions are derived from hours of messing around and saying, what the heck and try the simple approach. Thanks to both Avi and Jeff for their suggestions.
All I had to do to remove the UEK stuff from Oracle Linux 6.6 was to place in my ks.cfg %post /usr/bin/yum remove "*uek*" -y %end I created it twice just to make sure I was not dreaming. After the system rebooted is booted up under RHEL Compatible Kernel and no rpm's were found with UEK. Just wanted to reply back in case someone in the future needed it too. I’ve been extracting the .iso release media into a separate directory, moving the UEK rpms out, regenerating the repository data, and pointing the installs at that directory. And because I do have some requirements for UEK, I’ll import those RPMs into a channel.
