Hi Jeff,

I suggest you use the plain "7" directory, instead of the specific release directories such as "7.2.1511". The "7" directory usually points to the latest, most appropriate files.

In CentOS there is not really a way to stay on a sub-release such as 7.2, so referring to
those directories will not make a difference in the long run.

I haven't administered Spacewalk servers for a while now but that's how I used to do it.

Kind regards,
  Steve

Thank you for the quick reply Steve!

Would it make sense to make this my “Base” channel:
http://mirrors.mit.edu/centos/7.2.1511/os/x86_64/ , and then the
“Updates” (http://mirrors.mit.edu/centos/7/updates/x86_64/), as a
child to the “Base” parent?

Just trying to consider best practices.

Hi Jeff,

the URL you want to point your Updates repo to is:

http://mirrors.mit.edu/centos/7/updates/x86_64/

Kind regards,

All,

Which Repository should I be using to pull CentOS updates/errata?

I currently have my CentOS 7 Repository Configured to use:
http://mirrors.mit.edu/centos/7.2.1511/os/x86_64/

However, when I look there in that directory, there aren’t any
recently released packages. This seems to be same for other CentOS
repos I have looked at.

I feel like I’m missing something here.

Kind Regards,
Jeff
