Golden rule: always use FQDN everywhere. 

Your hostname and FQDN should match and both should be spacewalk.something.com 
<http://spacewalk.something.com/> and your SSL certificate CN should be 
spacewalk.something.com <http://spacewalk.something.com/>.

We specifically call this out in our install documentation. It greatly reduces 
confusion by just using the FQDN.
