Hi Robert, Thanks a million for the info you've provided. It really helped me solve my problem.
I am using spacewalk's capability to sync the debian repo, so I was not using Steve's script to "rhnpush" packages. But I made a bash script (not skilled in python) to extract the Multi-Arch header from the official repo and then patch/update my Packages file, and after that used the secureAPT script for gpg signing.
