I saw this recently; SELinux was preventing the application being run under Tomcat from connecting to the PostgreSQL database. Youll need the following:
setsebool -P tomcat_can_network_connect_db 1 spacewalk-service restart You'll find the offending entries inside /var/log/audit/audit.log. Jänner 2019 13:01 An: spacewalk-list@redhat.com Betreff: [Spacewalk-list] Tomcat failed to start properly or the installer ran out of tries Hi, I have tried to install Spacewalk 2.0 on CentOS Linux release 7.6.1810 (Core) several times. I have used this instructions: https://github.com/spacewalkproject/spacewalk/wiki/HowToInstall After the setup I will get the message: Tomcat failed to start properly or the installer ran out of tries Tomcat is running, but when I will try to open the Spacewalk page it took vey long and I will only get a black balk with the Spacewalk logo, Rest of the page is white and I am not able to do anything…. I cannot find any solution, the only things I have tried is to downgrade c3p0: Removed: c3p0.noarch 0:0.9.5-0.3.pre8.sw Installed: c3p0.noarch 0:0.9.2.1-6.el7 The second hint I found is that the FQDN of the server has to be correct. I checked and it seems to be OK….. Any help anyone.. ??? Thanks a lot, Harald
