No, you're right, your current solution is halfways the most elegant one.
But it's possible to do it more elegant without cluttering Makefile.PL :)
Can you put the current Makefiles etc. somewhere from wheer I can download
them -- I just noticed that I have that stupid Bugzilla error message in
all the lately downloaded files, too :-/
